Ramadan Countdown: How Many Days Left?

The next date by Umm al-Qura

Ramadan is the ninth month of the Hijri calendar, the month of fasting. It begins when its crescent is confirmed; countries that rely on sighting complete Sha’ban at thirty days if the crescent is not seen, so the first day can differ by one day between countries. Because the Hijri year is about 11 days shorter than the Gregorian one, Ramadan moves roughly 11 days earlier each year and passes through every season in about 33 years.

By the Umm al-Qura calendar, Start of Ramadan 1448 AH falls on Monday 8 February 2027. The month of Ramadan 1448 AH has 29 days, from 8 February 2027 to 8 March 2027. By calculation Ramadan is complete on 8 March 2027, and Eid al-Fitr follows the next day.

Two consecutive dates are 354 or 355 days apart, which is why the date moves about 11 days earlier on the Gregorian calendar each year.

How the countdown works

The countdown measures the time left until midnight at the start of that day in your device’s time zone, and updates every second. If you change the “Adjust the day” option the date moves with it. The reminder button creates an ICS file with an alert one day before; it is generated in your browser and no data is sent anywhere.

About accuracy: dates follow the Umm al-Qura calendar. The start of a month may differ by one day from the official announcement in your country, which is based on moon sighting. You can adjust the day (±1) above, and you can read how we calculate.
